Preditores psicológicos da Síndrome de Burnout entre os padres e os religiosos consagrados brasileiros

O presente artigo aborda a relação entre as características de personalidade com tendência psicopatológica e a Síndrome de Burnout entre os presbíteros e os religiosos consagrados brasileiros. Em uma amostra com 293 participantes, a presente pesquisa se concentrou em três objetivos: (a) descrever as características diagnósticas da Síndrome de Burnout entre os presbíteros e os religiosos consagrados brasileiros. A análise dos dados nos indicou níveis médios de exaurimento emotivo, altos índices de despersonalização e altos índices de realização pessoal; (b) analisar a correlação entre os domínios de personalidade com tendência psicopatológica e a Síndrome de Burnout. Os dados indicaram resultados significativos (p < .001), que vão na direção esperada com intensidade diferente para cada escala do MBI-HSS; (c) explorar se os domínios de personalidade com tendência psicopatológica predizem o desenvolvimento da Síndrome de Burnout entre os presbíteros e os religiosos consagrados brasileiros. A análise dos resultados indicou que o Burnout é majoritariamente predito pela afetividade negativa e pelo distanciamento.
Abstract: This study addresses the relationship between psychopathological personality characteristics and Burnout Syndrome in a sample of 293 Brazilian priests and religious. The diagnostic characteristics of Burnout Syndrome within the sample was described. Data analysis indicated average levels of emotional exhaustion, high rates of depersonalization and high levels of personal fulfilment among the sample. The relationship between psychopathological personality domains and Burnout Syndrome was investigated. The study found a significant correlation (p < .001) which goes in the expected direction with a different intensity found for each MBI-HSS scale. Finally, psychopathological personality domains were investigated to ascertain if they predicted the development of Burnout Syndrome among Brazilian priests and religious. The analysis of the results indicated that Burnout is mostly predicted from negative affectivity and detachment.
