Migração, peregrinação e caminhada como desafios da missão no mundo globalizado

Resumo

A crise das condições de vida no campo e na grande cidade, mormente causada pelas imposições do capitalismo em sua configuração neo-liberal, faz cada vez mais indivíduos e grupos sociais perderem terra, casa, pátria e trabalho. Neste contexto da má notícia da migração imposta, o A. procura em sua palestra, que foi apresentada na abertura do Seminário “Migrações, Globalização e Missão”, em Brasília (6.8.1999), respostas a partir da boa-nova do caminho e da peregrinação. Depois de perscrutar a fragilidade da narrativa histórica do peregrino cristão, o A. propõe três eixos norteadores que emergem da experiência dos migrantes, sem justificar a migração: a gratuidade, que questiona a lógica do mercado; a proximidade, que contesta a indiferença; e a universalidade, que contracena com a globalização excludente.

Abstract: The crisis in living conditions in the countryside and major cities, chiefly caused by the impositions of capitalism in its neoliberal configuration, has caused an increasing number of individuais and social groups to lose their lands, homes, country and work. In the context of the bad news of imposed migration, the A. in this lecture, which was presented at the opening of the Seminar “Migrations, Globalization and Mission”, in Brasília (06.08.1999), looksfor answers from the good news ofthe way and of pilgrimage. Afier scrutinizing the fragility of the historical narrative of the Christian pilgrim, the A. proposes three directional pivots which emerge from migrants experience, without justifying migration: gratuity, which questions the logic of the market; proximity, which contests indifference; and universality, which backgrounds with globalization which excludes.
