Abstract: The main objective of this article is to revisit Escoto s argument of the "universal primacy of Christ” in search of inspiration for contemporary theology’, marked by that wich has been conventionally called ‘the crisis of paradigms’. Very much aware of the development and subtleties of Escoto s rich and deep thought, the Author selects a few ‘relevant’ insights for today s theological task: the primacy of the God-Love, the affmnation of God s absolute freedom and of the contingency of human beings and of the cosmos; the Christic dimension of redemption, of grace and of the entire creation. To conclude, the Author, on the one hand, bears xvitness to the logical accuracy and depth of Escoto ’s thought and, on the other, to the amazing contemporaneity of his theological insights.
